good for the soul

Typically, if I take some time off from my blog...
or facebook...
it means I am just a little too grumpy to be "real" with my words.
Real & uncandidly truthful
just ain't pretty
when your just plain grumpy.

However, I have finally made time
for my walks around the neighborhood
my only means of exercise
and truly my only quiet time
which does wonders for my soul {and my bad mood}.

I listen to my ipod and pray
or make deals with God
{highly inappropriate, I know!}
But,  my "God" music does wonders for me
when I need to put things into perspective.

I have been feeling very small & tiny
in this big ol' bad world.

"I know God won't give me more than I can handle.
I just wish he didn't trust me so much."
-Mother Teresa

Amen, Sista!
I'm just sayin'.
Enough already...

I have been reminded
however small I may be
my God is ultimately huge.

Time to put on my big girl panties and march on.

I got no time to pout!

As for my walks & my God music...
my best friend introduced Jennifer Knapp's
music to me many years ago.
Still, today, her music speaks volumes to me!
Good for my soul.

I have been singing these words...

"I am weak. I am poor.
I'm broken Lord but I'm yours.
Hold me now."

Check out these links
I made {wink, wink}
of 2 of my favorite Jennifer Knapp songs:

So turn on the light and reveal all the glory
I am not afraid
To bare all my weakness knowing in meekness
I have a kingdom to gain
Where there is peace and love in the light, in the light
Oh I am not afraid"

I admit, I have been a little afraid...
{in this big ol' bad world - pout - pout}

For now,
I seek faith in place of my fears.
I yearn for peace in place of disharmony & frustration.
I long for contentment in place of my consistent wishful thinking.
I seek forgiveness in place of my ever growing resentment.

And, most of all,
I pray for God's will in place of this time of uncertainty.

"And like a lamp on a hill
Lord I pray in Your will
To reveal all of You that I can"

I walk every day. It's as good for my soul as it is for my body! It's my only "me" time so I totally understand how you feel about your walks. I listen to my ipod and chat with God too!

See you in a couple of days!
